Symposium on Philosophy and Aesthetics ’22 Overview

This symposium will focus on aesthetic theories and interdisciplinary frameworks through which modern/contemporary art and their aesthetic experiences can be explored. The theories of taste, alongside other senses, have long been at the heart of aesthetic interrogations. However when we look at art’s ontological positioning amidst other kinds of objects in the world, we are often faced with the tough task of trying to reconcile taste and art, the universal and the subjective. This symposium will weave through a series of insights into this entanglement of taste and art.
