Hi!
We are glad to share that Team Let’s Talk Tattva will be present and participating at the conference marking the 100th year of Indian Philosophy Conference, being held at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
In case you reached here by scanning the QR code at our stall, thank you already. We appreciate you pausing and being curious about us.
Let’s Talk Tattva is an independent initiative committed to taking philosophy beyond its usual settings and returning simply to the act of philosophizing. We look for thinking in whatever shape or place we encounter it. We work with the sense that the concepts and categories handed down through long traditions still carry a quiet vitality. They continue to offer ways of understanding ourselves and the world we move through.
Since our beginning in October 2021, we have tried to create small, attentive spaces for conversation. In these spaces, ideas are treated as living companions rather than distant abstractions. When people with different experiences sit with them patiently, something meaningful often begins to take form. Sometimes these ideas clarify, sometimes they unsettle, sometimes they simply remind us that thinking can still be alive. We have few initiatives that focus on:
- Philosophy with Scholars: Inviting scholars with diverse areas of expertise to share their work, followed by open and thoughtful conversation.
- Prāśnika: We are starting a journal which aims to publish pieces dealing with reflections on the historically handed-down/inherited hermeneutic tapestry of the sub-continent.
- Being and Thought in Pre-Common Era: A lecture series focused on excavating life-worlds of the people living in the pre-common era, i.e., their Being preeminently via the modalities in which their thought bloomed.
In collaboration with Oxford Public Philosophy. - Research Dialogues: A platform for early-stage scholars to present their work and receive engaged feedback through close reading and discussion.
In collaboration with The Philosophy Project.
If anything from this interests you, we invite you to join us at our Meet and Greet at IIT Bombay or in any of our upcoming discussions. See you there!
Thank you for visiting, reading, and sharing this moment with us.
